Dr. Darin S. Detwiler, LP.D., M.A.Ed., is an award-winning food safety expert, author, speaker, columnist, and professor.  His books include Food Safety: Past, Present, and Predictions as well as Building the Future of Food Safety Technology are used in universities across the country.  His work in food policy spans thirty years and includes advising the USDA and FDA.  Dr. Detwiler shared about his career (that began after the loss of a son to E.coli) in his 2020 TEDx talk.
